CS2 Telemetry Interpreter
Interpret CS2 frame time, FPS, ping and upstream/downstream missed ticks with careful explanations.
Counter-Strike 2 has useful built-in telemetry, but similar-looking numbers describe different things. This interpreter explains the meaning of readings that you enter manually. The site cannot see your actual connection or inspect your running game.
Read the HUD without jumping to conclusions.
Use actual values from CS2, recorded during the problematic moment. Missing values can stay blank.
RESULT / READOUT
CS2 tick miss is not the same as packet loss. A 0% tick-miss reading does not prove a flawless connection. Source: Valve’s telemetry documentation.
Frame time is not average FPS
Valve describes frame time as the elapsed interval between successive frames being presented. The nearby FPS figure is an average. A single interval of 20 ms does not mean average FPS is fixed at 50.
For stutter investigations, watch what happens during the hitch. Comparisons between one frame-time value and an average FPS figure are informative, but they are not percentile frame-time reports.
Ping describes travel time, not stability
Ping is a round-trip network timing measurement. A stable 40 ms connection and a variable 40 ms average can feel different, depending on packet arrival timing and other conditions.
High ping alone does not reveal your ISP, router or a server as the cause. Compare regions and times, and do not assume that higher bandwidth always reduces latency.
Missed ticks are not raw packet loss
Valve’s upstream and downstream network-problem figures count ticks for which required commands or snapshots were not available on time. They include timing problems caused by loss and jitter, but are not a simple packet-loss percentage.
An upstream rise relates to the server not receiving user commands when needed. A downstream rise relates to the client missing timely snapshots. Even a 0% figure is not proof of an ideal connection.
